Easter Weekend

It's time to head off, as I usually do, to go to Westland to hang out with Christina. Yes, it is almost 3am. I'm kinda used to it. I have a fairly busy weekend planned. I am going to eat chocolate, eat Japanese food (at Akasaka, the best Japanese place in Livonia), and hang out. It's tough being me. I'll be posting again on Monday. Happy Easter!

New Restaurants

I just checked out a few new restaurants tonight which had, in previous incarnations been other restaurants. There has been a Thai place called Tuptim that used to be a fairly nasty looking Long John Silver's. I wanted to check the place out, so I grabbed a menu. The Thai dish I wanted to try, Pad Tai, was twelve dollars, a little too expensive for my tastes. The place I ended up eating food from was called Al Noor, previously a Taco Bell, and has mainly Lebanese and other Middle Eastern cuisine. I had Kalaf Habati, or something like that. It was ground lamb that was seasoned, char grilled, and sliced into strips served over rice and sauteed onions, green peppers, and stewed tomatoes with a bunch of pita bread on the side. It was really good. The lamb was seasoned well, but not overpowering, the rice was good (anyone who knows me will know that I am very picky with my rice, having eaten it almost every day for four months in Japan), the vegetables were a great touch, and the pita brought it all together. It cost me about nine dollars, and it was worth it. As my food settles, I am looking online at various ring tones that I can download for my baby cell phone. I might get In-a-Gadda-da-Vida, Ride of the Valkyries, or something like that. My brother wants me to get Big Pimpin for when he calls me. That is too funny. By the way, I am looking at ring tones at AT&T and at Your Mobile which was featured on tonight's Audio File on Tech TV.

Pants!

The internet is a vast and open space, with lots of crap on it. Some of it is actually funny, though. This one site, A Pants Page is pretty good. Just replace a word in a song title with pants for a clever new title. For instance: Send in the Pants (Clowns) Are We Having Pants Yet? (Fun) Pants Fills Our Home (Sunlight) et cetera... I also have three Penny-Arcade comic strips that make reference to Pants in all their glory. Flaming Pants DivX's Lack of Pants And, of course, the one, the only... well, I'm not going to ruin it. Read this one for yourself. I now return you to your regularly scheduled pants. Er... whatever.

Post-Mortem

It is now about 3:15am and I am writing this as Casey (my roommate, for those of you who may not know, though, come to think of it, only 4 or 5 people know this exists...) sleeps blissfully in the bedroom. I am feeling like a zombie right now. I am on the after-work high energy kick right now and cannot force myself to sleep. I would like to work off the energy playing video games, but that is too loud, and I don't like to disturb Case when he's asleep. I'll probably just ramble on LiveJournal here for an inordinately long time. I've been trying to find new and cool things for my computer that make it run more efficiently, clean up the look, and other things like that. I got Tweak UI which allows you to tweak the user interface (hence the name) of Windows 95, 98, Me, 2000, or NT. I think it is kinda neat, and I have my system changed a little bit, making it a little bit more unique. I am contemplating whether or not I should start my new book tonight. I mean, if I do, then I know that I'll be up until 5am, but if I don't, I'll be bored and clicking around on the internet trying to find some cool link to insert into this little entry. So far, no dice. Just uploaded a picture of me for a little more personalization. The picture there is about 2 years old now, but that is still me. I really can't believe how dead it has been at work lately. We used to have 200 plus people come and hang out for a Jerry Sprague night, and 4-500 for Quarter Beer Nights, and now we are pulling in 60 for Jerry and 250 for QBN. It's pretty sad, and it makes for a boring night at "work." Then again, as a bar back, I am almost always moving, and there is always some little task or something to clean, or an errand to run for people. It keeps me busy, and I know that we (bar backs) do more running around work in a night than the bouncers. Enough about work, time to talk about play. Comics. I love web comics. They are free little bits of fun that are much different than those that are in newspapers. Here is the list of the comics I regularly read: 8-Bit Theater Adventurers! MegaTokyo Penny Arcade PVP - Player vs. Player Real Life Comics RPG World Sinfest I have to say that MegaTokyo and Real Life are my favorites, in that order. At some future date, I am going to upload my journal from Japan into this thing, so that if people get very, very, very bored, they can read about my exploits on the other side of the planet. But not tonight. I think I'll go read a chapter or two of Wit'ch Gate. It's only 4am... ...BRAAAAAIIIIINS!!! (ZOMBIE!)

Punching Time Clocks and Good Music

I have to go get ready for work, where I haul dirty, empty glasses which recently contained alcohol off to be cleaned by.. myself. Tonight, just as every Wednesday, Jerry Sprague will be performing. Jerry puts on a wonderful one-man acoustic guitar show, covering some great tunes, ranging from Billy Joel to Dave Matthews, Bob Seger, and many more. I always enjoy his shows, even though it is bottled beer night, and, provided we get busy, I will be running back and forth trying to keep the bar stocked. In case you were wondering, Jerry's web site is http://www.jerrysprague.com

First Post

Well, this is the first post on my new Web Journal. I heard about this web site from Megan Morrone on The Screen Savers, which I just happen to be watching at this very moment. I don't really have a lot of interesting stuff to talk about so I will just drop a few cool links.
